The international conference YOUTH-ACTION-CULTURE: Towards Cultural Democracy took place on 13 and 14 November in Caldas da Rainha.

The conference provided the meeting of ideas, innovation and inspiration, with the intervention of artists, European policy makers, agents of cultural and educational organizations, European students, among others, as a platform to listen and empower young people, with the aim of promoting the role of culture and education for cultural citizenship and democracy.

The initiative was promoted by the National Plan of the Arts and co-organized by the European Network of Observatories in the Field of Arts and Cultural Education, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Caldas da Rainha Municipality, Leiria Polytechnic Institute and the UNESCO Chair in Management of Arts and Culture, Cities and Creativity of the Polytechnic of Leiria, and Caldas da Rainha Arts and Design School.
