The Creative City of Kanazawa has issued a call for applications for an artist residency organised by the training and research institution Kanazawa Utatsuyama Kogei Kobo.
The aim of this programme is to strengthen international networks among UNESCO Creative Cities through cultural exchange. The initiative aims to encourage collaboration between participating cities, promote the development of creative professionals, and showcase traditional and contemporary crafts to an international audience.
The residency is open to an artist or craftsperson working in the fields of ceramics, textile dyeing, metalwork or glasswork. Lasting four weeks, it will begin in October 2026.
The application period runs from 8 June to 23 July 2026, until 4.00 pm (Japan Standard Time).
