The proposal for a new ceramics museum resulting from the diagnosis made by the Working Group seeks to find a solution to all the problems detected and is therefore not confined to the “old” theme of expansion. The museum envisaged here does not neglect the classic role of the museum as a custodian and showcase for the memories of ceramic activity, providing itself with the technical conditions to carry it out with dignity, but it also emphasises other aspects: the museum as a research and training centre and the museum as a cultural centre.

As well as being a living house of science and culture, the project to build new facilities for the Museum should be seen as an opportunity to stimulate a new centre for the creative city of Caldas da Rainha.
