Joana Ribeiro (1991) is a multidisciplinary visual artist.
Trained as an architect, a designer by nature and an artist by necessity, she develops a practice that bridges drawing, objects and space.
She was born and raised in Caldas da Rainha, in an environment where manual work was always present. From an early age, drawing, dance, theatre and sewing contributed to an intuitive and cross-disciplinary approach to her practice.
She studied Architecture at the University of Porto, with a particular interest in the social dimension of the discipline, which continues to influence her work.
In 2019, she began signing her work as Joana Mundana, particularly in the field of illustration, and has developed collaborations in various contexts.
More recently, she has been expanding her practice into sculpture and mural art, continuing to explore visual metaphors and short narratives, whilst seeking an ever-closer dialogue with the body and with space.
She currently lives and works in Caldas da Rainha.
