Álvaro Nogueira is from Caldas da Rainha, where he grew up, studied and lives. 

He has a degree in Product Design – Ceramics and Glass from ESAD.CR and has attended various ceramics training courses at Cencal. Between 2018 and 2019 he took part in an Erasmus programme in Poland at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts, where he came into contact with Polish ceramic artists. Also in 2019, she did an internship at the Rometti factory in Umbria, Italy, as part of the Premio Rometti competition, where she won 3rd prize.  He develops both functional and artistic ceramics, exploring various forming and decoration techniques, and is particularly concerned with environmental sustainability, biodiversity and the preservation of indigenous forests.
