Sreya

Rita Moreira

Sreya was born in Lisbon in 1988. She holds a degree in Design from the University of Beira Interior and completed a specialisation in Creative Ceramics at Cencal, in Caldas da Rainha. Her artistic practice develops across ceramics, painting, installation and music, exploring the intersection between technique and spontaneous expression. Her work is characterised by a figurative and accessible approach, strongly rooted in cultural narratives. Her visual language, popular in character and close to Art Brut and outsider aesthetics, stands out for its rawness, directness and emotional charge.
Since 2011, she has been presenting her work in various exhibition contexts, including Museu Bernardo; Galeria Zé dos Bois — with particular emphasis on the exhibitions Sreya Priprema Sofra (2019) and 6 Espadas (2024); Associação Goela (Cabeça, Ascensor, 2021); Museu Bordalo Pinheiro (O Rato não Roeu, 2023); and Galeria Cabana Mad (Por Definir, 2020). She has been collaborating with Galeria Zaratan (Hammer Time, 2024 and 2025) and intends to continue working with the gallery in 2026. She took part in the third edition of the artistic residencies and exhibitions programme of Museu Bordalo Pinheiro, as well as in an online residency promoted by the Raum.pt platform. Her trajectory is defined by a consistent practice and a singular aesthetic production.
