Francisco Correia has his studio, nicknamed “Francisco Correia Ceramics”, in the industrial area, sharing a large warehouse with two other ceramists. Francisco was born on 03/12/1991, in Loures (Lisbon) and very young still comes to Caldas da Rainha. In 2008 he enrolled in ESAD, where he takes the course of “Ceramic and Glass Design”, having in 2010 chosen CENCAL to attend the course of “Creative Ceramics”. In 2011 he heads to the Alentejo, to S. Pedro do Corval to, in the company of Masters Tavares and Velhinho, deepen his knowledge. In December, he moves to his current workplace. This artist has a very interesting particularity and that is not common: he uses clay collected on the beach of the Bom Sucesso area for his works. For his creation of artistic pendormals uses very little color and little glass, focusing more on pastes – which works a lot – and texture. Francisco participates in several ceramic exhibitions held in Caldas da Rainha and has works exhibited under the project “19 Tille”. It works essentially on the wheel, directing its productions to the restoration, medium-high range; the material it uses is mostly stoneware. Your work can be purchased directly in your studio, by contact through instagram, or “Sr. Jacinto” and in the project “Tille 19”, in Caldas da Rainha.
