Ana Cristina Henriques Silva Capinha has her workshop in a place surrounded by green orchards, where the peace and light inspire the modelling of popular pieces. She works hard on hearts, both in ceramics and jewellery. Large hearts, small hearts and hearts that include hearts are undoubtedly pieces that are a great favourite of the artist. Painted in various colours, they convey various moods, from the most cheerful to the most macabre. They are popular pieces of great appeal.
Ana Cristina also creates tile panels in a variety of formats, brightly coloured pieces that add a touch of joy to the walls that support them. Her jewellery is delicate and finely elegant.
Ana Cristina Capinha was born on 3 November 1968 in Figueira da Foz. In 1980 she moved to Caldas da Rainha and between 2015 and 2016 she attended the “Creative Ceramics Course” at Cencal. Since he started working, he has mainly worked with decorative and utilitarian earthenware.
She welcomes visitors to her studio by appointment and is happy to share her knowledge with schoolchildren, allowing them to experience their first contact with ceramics. The artist says: “My studio is always open”.
Lately, for professional reasons, she hasn’t devoted herself entirely to ceramics, so it’s difficult to find her pieces for sale. She accepts commissions to create murals.
