Dário Cardina

Dário Samuel Cardina Codinha

Dario Cardina was born on 09/02/1984, in Caldas da Rainha. He is influenced by his mother, the ceramist Sara Cardina, who gains interest in the art of ceramics. He attends the pottery course at CENCAL and since 2017 he has been dedicated entirely to ceramics. The ceramist works essentially with glazed stoneware and uses very specific colors: blue, red, yellow and green. He is dedicated to making decorative and utilitarian pieces: cups, salad bowls, fruit bowls, dinner services, which are distinguished by one particularity: the pieces that make them are all different. The artist uses natural motifs in the decoration and some pieces are made based on traditional Portuguese lace. Sometimes he uses cork motifs, sometimes he uses leaves as a mold. Dário also makes panels composed of several pieces that, once harmoniously placed, constitute a whole. Your pieces are sold either directly to restaurants, in your studio or in specific stores.
